THE SADDEST NEWS.........

The advertising industry is reeling with shock this week on the very sad news that high profile industry figure Peter Spencer has passed away after a heart attack on Monday.  Peter has been owner and operator of Marsden Inch Recruitment for the last 13 years since he acquired it after the sudden death of Marsden Inch himself in 1996.  Peter was a highly respected industry personality who not only played a leadership role in several advertising agencies in the 80's and 90's but continued to be a significant industry player in his company's sponsorship of several advertising awards and also as a judge of various industry competitions.   Deepest sympathies go to his wife Michele, his sons Mat and Christophe who are both based in Europe now,  and his colleagues at Marsden Inch, Jeneal Rohrback and Cindy Mitchener.  Peter's energy, positive disposition and love of life (including his big laugh) will be sorely missed.  His efforts changed the lives of many in the advertising industry and his huge contribution should be acknowledged by industry leaders.   Peter and I jointly pioneered the establishment of specialist recruitment company PR People back in 2003 until I purchased the business from him 3 years later and subsequently moved to Momentum.   Having worked with Peter for over five years I can attest to his wonderful joie de vivre and his love of his mates, his rugby and his industry.  Look out for the funeral notice in the Herald tomorrow - Peter deserves a magnificent send-off and I'm sure he will get it.
